Our Pack

A ministry first.

Pack 226 is an all-boy Cub Scout pack chartered by St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford, Texas. We are a ministry of the parish that delivers Scouting America programming — which means our first purpose isn’t patches or pinewood cars. It’s forming boys into responsible, faith-filled young men, in accordance with Catholic values.

The patches and pinewood cars are how we get there.

22:6Proverbs

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6 is our founding verse and our mission in a sentence — everything on our calendar exists to serve it.

Our parish

Part of St. Michael Catholic Church

We meet at St. Michael, we serve at St. Michael, and we share in the mission of St. Michael:

“St. Michael Catholic Church is a sacramental community focused on stewardship and worship. Our parish is centered on the celebration of the Most Holy Eucharist, the teaching of the Catholic Faith, which is rooted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” — Mission of St. Michael Catholic Church · smcchurch.org

We encourage our boys to serve as altar servers at St. Michael — bringing them closer to the altar and to God — and to continue their faith formation through the parish alongside their Scouting. Our pack also lends a hand to other parish ministries throughout the year.

We are part of the Longhorn Council of Scouting America and serve within the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth.

How the pack is organized

Leadership

Every registered adult leader in Pack 226 undergoes Scouting America’s Youth Protection Training, a background check, and the Diocese of Fort Worth’s Scout Leader Catechist Training. We are parents and parishioners committed to helping boys become responsible, faith-filled young men.
